If you are passionate about a career in barbering, this course will be the starting point giving you the basic skills and knowledge you need to enable you to progress to a NVQ level 2 diploma in barbering or a barbering apprenticeship. You will learn how to take a client on a journey from entering the salon to carrying out a range of different cutting and styling techniques and recommending the correct products for them to use. You will also learn about the importance of health and safety in the salon and how to deliver a first class service to customers – all of which will enable you to gain a job in the industry or progress to a higher level qualification. The programme is designed to cover all the basics of barbering and hairdressing theory and, in order to improve your practical skills and enable you to achieve the full qualification, you will also be required to bring your own clients into the college’s Hair Training Academy. We offer a fantastic, well-designed working salon environment supported by our inspirational and experienced staff who will help you to develop your skills and knowledge. You will have the chance to take part in local and national competitions - such as Wella Exposure – visit the Salon International exhibition in London, and take part in other enrichment activities which will give you further experience of the industry and look good on your CV.
