Course Overview:
This course is aimed at those who have limited or no experience with electrical circuits and components. It will provide the learner with the theory and practice required to undertake basic electrical maintenance within their own premises or places of work e.g. connecting a plug top, changing a light switch or fitting, checking for circuit continuity, etc.
There is no formal assessment involved but we do include a knowledge assessment at the end of the course and you’ll receive a certificate of attendance
This course would suit individuals or groups of both sex who possess limited or no knowledge of domestic electrical circuits and components.

This is a 2 day course will consist of classroom instruction and exercises.
This course covers:
· Safe isolation procedures
· Safe Installation Procedures & Practices
· Component Identification
· Identifying unsafe electrical situations
· Electrical earthing and bonding requirements
· Installing and replacement of electrical components
· Basic Fault Finding Techniques
· Checking the correct and safe operation of installed electrical component

On successful completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Understand how to safely isolate equipment.
  • Determine the risks of working with electrical equipment and know how to minimise them.
