This course is designed for anyone who would like to be able to practise Basic First Aid. You may not already know any skills, or you may be refreshing old ones. You may want to complete this course to use in your everyday life, or you may need it as part of your role at work or club / sporting group you are a part of. The course is mainly delivered via a powerpoint presentation, with handouts and a practical part where you will be able to use some of the skills you are taught in a safe relaxed environment before having to ever use them in the real world!

About this course

You do not need any experience of First Aid prior to the course - just a willingness to learn. It may be that you already have some knowledge and are wanting to refresh your skills. The day is very relaxed and our trainer is very skilled in making you feel as comfortable as possible to initially learn and the retain the information you'll receive on the day. You will get a chance to practice some practical skills on the day too!

Learners will be able to be:
  • Competent in providing Basic First Aid in medical emergency situations
  • Demonstrate an understanding of what actions to take in a medical emergency

Demonstrate your ability to competently
  • Place a casualty in the recovery position
  • Perform CPR
  • Deal With someone choking
  • Deal with minor injuries, bleeding and shock
  • Deal with burns and scalds
