Course programme

Basic Life Support training gives the student the necessary skills to undertake the correct life saving procedures to save a life. The course lasts 1 day (4-8 hours).

Training is provided either in the workplace, or at our training facilities at RAF Cosford Shropshire in a friendly yet informative and professional manner. Combining theoretical knowledge and practical sessions, courses can be tailored to meet personal requirements.

Our BLS course will allow you to deal with an incident, caring for the unconscious person dealing with a heart attack, cardiac arrest and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in adults and children, and choking.

Course Length

This course will take 4-8 hours to complete.

Certification

This course provides for a 3 year certification.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Syllabus

Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines for:
Understanding the principals of BLS.
Relating BLS to the working environment.
The ABCDE approach.
Risks to the rescuer.
Respiratory arrest.
Cardiac arrest.
Recovery position.
Choking.
Professional and legal responsibilities.
Practical time using mannequins.
