This course is designed for beginners and takes you through the basics of make up from day make-up, on to evening make-up and basic bridal make up. You will learn to do foundation, cheeks and lips, natural looking to high fashion and the all important smokey eyes. This course is ideal for those wishing to add make up services within a salon or freelance.

About this course

-To understand and then apply a various make up designs. -Understand the requirements of a design brief
-To be able create a make up design after researching
-Understand procedures for a safe application
-Prepare for the application of a make up design
-To be able create a make up design after researching
-To be able apply a make up design from the created design.
-To maintain records, store and clean make up products and tools, i.e. make up brushes
-Understand procedures for a safe application

Anyone who works in the Hairdressing & Beauty industry.

Beauty background is desirable but not essential.

All courses are now accredited with a recognised awarding body which is ABT (Association of Beauty Therapies)

Only one learner is enrolled on this course and will have one to one training to ensure the learner has full training throughout the 2 days.

  • Lipliner, Lipstick, lip shapes and correction.
  • Foundations-Cream, fluid, powder.
  • Blusher - powder, cream.
  • Eyeshadows-From natural to smokey eyes.
  • Eyeliners-Gel, kohl, shadow.
  • Eyelash-Fake lashes strip & individual
  • Day Make up,Evening Makeup,Bridal Make up &
  • Corrective Make up

Demonstration of a basic make up application
Teacher facilitating the session & observing the learners development during student activities & checking of learning, assessing the learner during and after the application of their make up design.
The learners will:
  • Setting up their work stations, materials and equipment.
  • Preparing the client and explaining the procedure
  • Compliance to health and safety throughout
  • Students to create their chosen make up
  • Apply make up to create chosen design
  • Photographs for awarding body evidence of range.
  • Cleaning and tidy up of work area.
  • Reflection and evaluation of the session will take place through group discussion at the end, tutor led.
  • Introduction of the next session
