The beautician is specialized in the treatment of the body for aesthetic purposes. His activity can be performed with manual techniques, with the use of tools or with the application of cosmetic products; services of a medical nature or for therapeutic purposes are prohibited. It therefore takes care of the skin, hands and feet, trying to mitigate the imperfections present. It is typically a "female" profession, but there are also male professionals. Normal activities include: examining clients' skin; decide in agreement with the customer the type of treatment and which products to apply; apply facial masks for deep cleansing of the face; depilate parts of the body using tweezers, creams, waxes, laser beams; make aesthetic massages using cosmetic creams and ointments; make up using professional make-up; give advice on how to take care of the skin; give advice on buying cosmetics.
