Course programme
Summary
This course is an ideal starting point for those who would like a future career in the beauty industry. In this course you will study units which cover:
- Anatomy & Physiology
- Principles of practice for Beauty Therapists
- Hair Removal Treatments
- Facial and skin analysis treatments
- Manicure services
- Pedicure services
- Light cured gel polish
- Lash and brow treatments
- Apply make up
The timetable includes a mixture of both practical and theory lessons. Initially you practice the treatments on each other; this is important as a beauty therapist needs to know what the treatments feel like in order to have empathy with their clients. You will then go through pre-observations and final assessments.
All students also have a weekly shift in our training Solutions salon in order to experience working on clients and to perfect their customer care skills. Solutions, is run as a fully functioning commercial salon offering a full range of professional consultations and treatments using top brands such as Louise Young, Decleor, St Tropez. All of our tutors are highly qualified with excellent industry experience and all work hard to ensure our students benefit from this wealth of knowledge.
Students are offered enrichment such as trips to Professional Beauty and extra courses for example, ear piercing, threading, gel nails etc. All students have opportunities to participate in College events such as fashion shows, the Royal Norfolk Show, hair and beauty shows and other off-site activities to build practical experience. We regularly participate in competitions such as World Skills UK.
"The quality of teaching, learning and assessment in hairdressing and beauty therapy is good and reflects the good outcomes for learners.
