Are you a newly qualified Social Worker about to start or in your first year of practice? Our module is designed to support newly qualified social workers in their transition from qualification and registration to capable practitioner. You will build on existing knowledge and skills to critically reflect on your experiences so far.
Our module is designed to support newly qualified Social Workers in completing the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) within your organisation. It provides a way to get your professional development recognised academically, and will help you make the transition from initial registration to becoming a capable practitioner.
You'll build on what you learned on your qualifying course, reflect on your experiences as a newly qualified social worker and develop your professional confidence.
Course content
- Critical reflection and applying it in practice
- Critically evaluating theories and research
- Exploring how social work values inform practice
- Building your knowledge and skills in line with the 9 domains of the Professional Capability Framework and knowledge and skills at ASYE level.
Our module is underpinned by the Professional Capabilities Framework, the Knowledge and Skills statement for adults, children and families and meets the standards expected by the HCPC. It is open to newly qualified social workers working with adults, children, young people and families.
Our module will complement any organisation-based programme for your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) or can act as a standalone module.
