About this course

You will need to bring along 50 cm of either 115cm or 150 cm wide fabric. The fabric should be light or medium weight cotton. If you wish to make you rosette out of a contrasting fabric you will require 14cm x 42 cm of light weight or medium weight fabric.

Short on time but love the idea of using a sewing machine? Our simple tote bag course may be the answer.

Take just a few hours out and learn how to thread up a machine, fill a bobbin and sew a straight line. Then learn how to measure and cut out your chosen fabrics to form the basis of your bag. We’ll teach you how to use an overlocker (a sewing machine that cuts the fabric while finishing the edges!) to get a professional finish and then sew your bag handles before moving onto sewing it all together.

Create a matching (or contrasting) rosette to add a stylish touch. You’re now ready to go shopping…
