About this course
Standard entry to this course requires one reference. It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance in your last place of study or work. A GCSE in both English and maths at grade 3 or above (D), plus an additional two GCSE’s grade 3 (D) or above including a Technology/Design based subject.
Consideration will be given to all applicants over the age of 19 who do not hold formal English and maths qualifications.

Course programme
Year 1
The level 2 qualification typically comprises of the following core units: health, safety and welfare in construction (this unit can be carried forward from level 1); and principles of building construction, information and communication. The following subject specialist units are also studied: set up and operate a circular saw; produce setting out details for bench joinery products; mark out from setting out details for bench joinery products; and manufacture bench joinery products.
