Modern life depends on electronics; from industry to the iPhone, they’re everywhere. In lectures and in our labs, you’ll learn to design, simulate and build a wide variety of electronic systems. Our course is CEng accredited by The Institution of Engineering and Technology, and meets the educational requirements for registration as an Incorporated Engineer. It's been validated to include an optional placement year in industry.

There is a wide variety of career opportunities, ranging from pure research through product design and development, to industrial and business management.
You’ll be able to choose from jobs in medical electronics, environmental monitoring, microelectronics, sound technology, biophysics, power, transport, media, engineering, industrial process control, construction and building services, and teaching.

Our links with industry mean that you could do shared projects with real employers, placements and work experience during your study. You’ll also go on company visits and some lectures are delivered by working engineers.

104 UCAS Tariff points from a minimum of 2 A Levels (or equivalent) including a pass in Mathematics at grade E or above.
3 GCSEs at grade C, or grade 4, or above including English, Maths and Science.
If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.0 (Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.
