Course programme

Course Outline

This workshop will introduce participants to the theory and practice of the use of projective exercises, using objects such as model animals, ornaments or natural materials in the therapeutic setting.

In our work as counsellors or therapists we will have experienced clients who become ‘stuck’, repeatedly returning to certain issues, or who cannot describe their experience. Objects can be used to facilitate the client’s awareness of unconscious intra-psychic and interpersonal processes, and move them towards resolution and integration. Participants on this workshop will develop an understanding of background to projective techniques and confidence in using objects within their work with clients.

  • have considered the place of projective techniques within their own practice and the theory of their modality
