How to:
Improve Cleaning standards
Benefit from cost effective training and assessment
Motivate and give recognition to those directly engaged on healthcare cleaning tasks.
The Healthcare Professionals Cleaning Certificate (HPCC) scheme is designed for those working within areas with the risk of cross-contamination (hospitals, clinics etc) and runs concurrently with and gives accreditation towards, the BICSc Cleaning Operators Proficiency Certification Scheme (COPC) and FPCC (Food Premises Cleaning Certificate) plus other BICSC qualifications.
The HPCC sets the minimum standard of competence that must be achieved by the person involved in cleaning healthcare premises. The operative who successfully undertakes and completes assessment in the HPCC and has been awarded a certificate, may be regarded as being fully trained and competent with respect to the skills they have been assessed on.
How does it work?
The HPCC course consists of 6 tasks that are most commonly carried out by healthcare cleaning operatives in the course of their work. This is an assessment of their ability to clean in a healthcare environment.
