How will I study?
At Chichester you will study the Edexcel syllabus. The course is divided into seven topics, four of which are taught in the first year. Topic 1: Biological molecules; Topic 2: Cells, Viruses and Reproduction of Living Things, Topic 3: Classification and Biodiversity, Topic 4: Exchange and Transport. In the second year the additional topics are: Topic 5: Energy for Biological Processes, Topic 6: Microbiology and Pathogens; Topic 7: Modern genetics. The practical skills are delivered in an embedded style throughout the two years of the course and are assessed through a Practical Endorsement component which requires each student to competently undertake 12 practical assessments. Students should note that there is a significant maths requirement embedded within the 2 year specification and students will be expected to continually work on developing their mathematical skills.
How will I be taught?
