Biology is always in the news: genetic engineering, stem cells, endangered species, DNA fingerprinting, food safety, pollution, new diseases and new ways to treat them. Biological developments affect our lives in many ways. The course will give you a better understanding of biological issues in later life or prepare you for the study of biology at a higher level.

Entry Requirements
Applicants will be required to have 5 GCSE subjects at least grade C or above, including B grades in additional science/Biology and Maths with an average GCSE score of 5.5*. In order to get onto the A2 level students will need to pass both of the theory papers of the AS level course. A grade B in English Language is an advantage.
Biology AS-level will allow you to go on to the A2 Biology course. A full A-level in Biology will prepare you for higher education especially study on one of many Biological Sciences degrees, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery, Paramedicine, Biological Science, Microbiology, Environmental Science, to name just a few. It will also gain points for entry to higher education. You could also use AS or A-level Biology as a qualification to get a job.
