About this course
This biomedical science foundation degree prepares you for degree-level learning and a future career in research or laboratory science, with the chance to discover new drugs, cures or treatments. You'll be able to transfer to the BSc Hons degree if you complete the course successfully.
The course will provide you with the relevant skills for working in laboratories. Modules cover topics as diverse as fundamental biology and physiology, medical science, metabolism and disease, microbiology and genetics.
This foundation degree is offered by one of the university's partner colleges, London South East Colleges, on its Bromley Campus.
72 UCAS points with at least one A-level in biology and/or chemistry or equivalent.
Plus, at least five GCSEs at grade C or above (9-4), including English language/literature and mathematics, or equivalent qualifications.
Alternatives to A-level:
A science-related BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (QCF) at MMP.
A science-related BTEC Level 3 Diploma (QCF) at DM.
Specific vocational, professional and other qualifications (e.g. NVQs, or suitable Access courses) are judged on merit according to their relevance as preparation for the course.
