"The borer is the person in charge of drilling works, especially of the ground, using the auger, an instrument used to drill solid or semi-solid material by means of a helicoid that rotates on its axis and in this way extracts the material creating a perforation in the body in question. The auger is used for surface drilling, typically for purposes related to civil engineering works or shallow water wells. The drilling of a well is carried out with special machines called drilling probes.
