Course programme

This 2 day course will cover the basics of Carbon Dioxide (CO2, R744) as a refrigerant and will explain how it should be safely handled within the workplace. This course has been developed by the refrigeration industry in conjunction with the British Refrigeration Association, the Carbon Trust and end users who use CO2. Learning will include: - Explanation of critical point, Trans critical operation and other key definitions - Basics of CO2 as a refrigerant - Hazards associated with CO2 - How to handle CO2 safely - Installation, service and maintenance procedures for CO2 Systems - Overview of CO2 systems: - Cascade sub critical - Trans Critical - Booster - Pumped - Examples of end users CO2 systems - Piping and components On successful completion a BRA certificate will be issued.Training and Course notes will be provided by Eastleigh College, whilst the delivery will be carried out at 'dci Refrigerations' bespoke training facility near Portsmouth in Hampshire. Industry set and recognised assessments are included: - multiple choice assessment to test knowledge - practical test to check safe handling skills
