Introduction:
This course will enable students with non-standard entry requirements to gain access to the HNC in Construction. It will enhance basic key and study skills, which will benefit students when studying the HNC in Construction. The course will develop students¿ ability to identify and make effective use of available resources and information.

Study Mode & Location:
This part-time programme will be held at Preston College, Fulwood Campus, St Vincent`s Road, Preston, PR2 8UR.

Course Content:
The course will cover two modules:

BNC090 - Study Skills Workshop covering effective writing skills, library skills, problem solving and ICT skills.

BN100 - Principles of Building (20 credits)

Assessment:
Assessment is via on-going coursework and an end of module examination.

Careers & Progression Opportunities:
Students successfully completing this course may progress to an HNC in Construction, which is also available at Preston College.

Additional Information:
You will be required to purchase the recommended protective clothing necessary for this programme of study.
