British Computer Society - Certificate

Since 1969, BCS Professional Examinations have set the highest standard of professionalism within the industry.
Trusted for its independence and integrity, BCS is the only Chartered Engineering Institution for IT professionals which can award an internationally recognised professional qualification.

Certificate
This level is the academic equivalent to Year 1 of a UK university honours degree and is recognised by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) as Level 4. BCS recommends a minimum of 200 hours study per module and the course culminates in a 2 hour written exam focusing on all three core modules.

Course and Modules

Certificate
The Certificate is examined to the academic level of the first year of a Higher National Diploma.
The examination will consist of a two hour written paper on each of the following three compulsory modules:

1. Information Systems
2. Software Development
3. Technology

Membership
All students should appy for membership with BCS.
