Content:
To develop an ability to communicate with Deaf people using British Sign Language in a range of familiar contexts, participating in longer and more open-ended exchanges than at Level 1.
By the end of the course candidates should be able to:
- Understand routine exchanges about their area of work / social life
- Understand step by step instructions
- Understand straightforward advice about everyday work / social matters
- Follow straightforward directions
- Can understand standard signing, delivered at normal speed.
There are three assessments:
- The candidate will watch a narrative presented on DVD and will answer 12 multiple choice questions.
- The candidate will sign a 3-4 minute presentation on a chosen theme. This will be recorded on DVD.
- The candidate will sign a 6-7 minute conversation on a chosen theme. This will be recorded on DVD.
