Introduction:
The Preston College Certificate in British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 Plus is appropriate for those who have studied Sign Language at Level 2 but feel they need more practice before embarking on a Level 3 course. It is specifically aimed at:

• those who wish to practice and develop confidence in BSL for their own interest after completing a Level 2 course.
• those who socialise within the deaf community.
• those who work with deaf colleagues.
• those who deal with deaf customers or clients.

Study Mode & Location:
This one year part-time morning course will run for 3 hours per week. It will be held at Preston College, Fulwood Campus, St Vincent`s Road, Preston, PR2 8UR.

Course Content:
This course will encourage you to:

• build on current BSL competence.
• broaden and apply BSL skills required in a range of situations.
• communicate confidently, clearly and effectively in BSL using increasingly accurate, complex and varied language.
• increase knowledge of the grammatical structure and variation within BSL.

Assessment:
The skills and competence gained will be assessed formatively throughout the course.

Careers & Progression Opportunities:
Successful completion of this course allows progression to a Level 3 course in British Sign Language.

How To Apply
You will need to have an informal interview with a Adult Admissions Adviser.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.

Depending upon your circumstances, you may be able to study for FREE or at a reduced price.
