Course Content
A 30 week, 2 hours per week programme involving mainly practical activities with tutor support. On completion of the programme students will have the opportunity to be assessed for the Stage One Certificate in British Sign Language, accredited by the Council for the Advancement of Communication for Deaf People (CACDP).

Course Assessment
The course is designed to enable students to acquire a basic ability to communicate with deaf people using sign language. It also aims to provide students with deaf people using sign language. It also aims to provide students with information about the deaf community and deaf culture.
