Course programme
Investigate daily headlines and topical news, discovering the international systems and the political and economic ideas that shape our contemporary world. You’ll also be introduced to the key areas of law and gain an understanding of the English, EU and international legal systems, and examine law in context to understand its relationship with other areas of study.

Year 2
In your second year, you’ll immerse yourself in the international political economy since 1945, and investigate and analyse global systems. You’ll explore concepts of national and individual security, peace and conflict resolution and imagining global society, and study law modules including consumer law, media and information law, tort and human rights. You can also choose to visit the Czech Republic, Poland, Canada or the USA with our international student exchange programme.

Final year
In your third year, you’ll undertake a comprehensive piece of research of your choice under expert supervision. You’ll also deepen your knowledge of international relations by studying a range of modules, including foreign policy, global environmental politics, refugee studies, the European Union, politics of the Middle East and Africa, globalisation and health. Our law options include criminal law, media and information law, environmental law, and business regulation and corporate governance.
