Course programme
This degree focuses on key areas of the fast-paced global Travel and Tourism industry. You will gain knowledge and skills for embarking on a successful and exciting career, whether in countries with well-established tourism products or in developing nations:

Option to gain the Digital Marketing Institute (DMI) professional qualification based on taught modules The Travel and Tourism degree will equip you with skills sought after by travel and tourism companies and help you to gauge an understanding of international tourism businesses. You will develop strong business management and communication skills, broadening your job prospects. You can aim for a job in travel, tourism or hospitality management, marketing and customer services. What Will I Learn?
The programme is designed to enhance self-reflection and personal development. The three stages of the programme are designed to facilitate increasingly challenging learning techniques as students’ progress.
At stage zero: embarking on the Foundation course will be the stepping stone towards achieving the degree in which your strengths can be realised. The first semester is the same for all students however in the second semester a choice of two further elective modules will be chosen to prepare for the degree you will be commencing. An applicant must normally be 18 years of age at the start of the programme and as a minimum must have obtained:
2 A Level passes (A-E/ minimum of 80 UCAS Tariff points) or successfully achieved 120 credits on the GSM London’s Foundation Year programme or equivalent.

If English is not the applicant’s first language, proof of fluency through IELTS (minimum score 6.0) or another accepted system must be provided.

Applications made under these qualifications may be subject to approval by Plymouth University.
Other equivalent qualifications may be considered if the Admissions Tutors believe applicants have the potential, motivation and knowledge to complete the programme successfully. All applicants who do not meet the standard entry requirements will be invited for interview.
Mature students (those 21 and over) with evidence of full-time work experience supported by a reference from their employer may be considered on their individual merits.
Candidates who do not meet the degree entry requirements are encouraged to apply for the Foundation Year. On completion of the Foundation Year you will gain direct entry on to this degree programme, read more about our Foundation Year programme.
