The course is modular in design and consists of six units, which are: Using ICT to Present Information. Introduction to Computer Systems* Website Development Spreadsheet Software Database Software ICT Graphics Customising Software. These are core units. One hour of tutorial a week with your class Coach or in group sessions, two hours a week will be allotated to Numeracy and Literacy.

About this course
Applicants are expected to have gained at least 4 GCSEs at grade D or GNVQ Foundation in Information Technology (overall Merit preferred).
Applicants with equivalent qualifications will also be considered.
Applicants should also be able to demonstrate a command of both the English language and Mathematics.

This course provides a broad ranging preparation for Information and Communication Technology careers.

Who the Course is For:
The course offers students an excellent introduction to Information and Communication Technology and its effect in the work place.
Assessment:
Students work is evaluated throughout the course by continuous assessment, comprising of assignments, observed practical skills, which contribute towards a portfolio of evidence.
Course Leads To:
The qualification shows that the student has attained basic skills and knowledge in Information Technology and application software.
Students can pursue employment with commercial or industrial companies or undertake further study: for example BTEC National Award\Diploma for IT Practitioners. Access to IT
