BTEC First Diploma In Business

The BTEC First Diploma is designed to encourage you to develop the personal
skills and qualities you need for work, learning and to help you achieve your full potential.
BTEC First Diploma qualifications are intended as practical "hands on" programmes with each one taught in the context of real jobs and careers in a chosen vocational sector and to acquire appropriate vocational skills.

3 GCSE's (A* - D Grade) including English or BTEC Introductory Diploma and a range of relevant assessments at interview.

This course provides a useful qualification into employment in its own right, but can also be used as an entry to a National Diploma Business course.

Units studied include:

* Starting a small business

* Developing relations with customers

* Personal selling skills

* Investigating financial control

but units are subject to confirmation.

You will also have the chance to develop your key skills in one of the following areas: communication, application of number and ICT.

The Core and Optional units are graded P (pass), M (merit) or D (distinction).

BTEC First Diploma offers direct progression on to BTEC National Diploma programmes. On completion of a BTEC National Diploma, students can progress to a BTEC Higher National or BTEC Foundation Degree programme.

BTEC First Diploma can also lead to careers in general office work, sales, buying, finance, administration.
