Qualification: BTEC First Diploma EDEXCEL

Duration: 1 year
The course will develop your business skills and knowledge and prepare you for the challenge of the modern business world or for further study. All students take the three core units: Introduction to Business Activity, Exploring Key Business Pressures and Investigating Financial Control plus three optional units.
Students complete assignments and coursework covering a range of activities and produce a portfolio of evidence.
Successful completion of the BTEC First course allows progression to the BTEC National Diploma in Business.

Qualification explained
BTECs are practical, work-related courses. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. As well as learning about the employment area you have chosen, you develop the skills you need to start a career. The BTEC National Diploma is equivalent to three A Levels which means when you have finished the course you can choose whether to get a job straight away or go into Higher Education first. A BTEC National Award is equivalent to one A Level so it can be combined with other subjects. A BTEC First Diploma introduces you to the employment area you have chosen and provides a good basis to go on to a more advanced work-related qualification. A BTEC First Diploma is equivalent to four GCSEs grades A* to C and is normally taken at college as a full-time course.
