What will I study?
The BTEC First Diploma in Health and Social Care consists of two core units plus four specialist units.

Core units

• Communication and Individual Rights within the Health and Social Care Sectors
• Individual Needs within the Health and Social Care Sectors

Specialist units

• Vocational Experience in a Health or Social Care Setting
• Cultural Diversity in Health and Social Care
• Anatomy and Physiology for Health and Social Care
• Human Lifespan Development
• Creative and Therapeutic Activities in Health and Social Care
• Health and Social Care Services
• The Impact of Diet on Health

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through the completion of an assignment for each unit. You will also study Essential skills in literacy, numeracy and IT.

What can I do after the course?

On successful completion of this course you can choose to work and train further in the field of Health and Social Care in an environment such as a nursing home. You can also progress to a BTEC National Diploma in Heath and Social Care or CACHE Diploma in Child Care and Education
