What will I study?
The BTEC First Diploma in Public Services consists of three core units plus three specialist units.

  • Public Service Skills
  • Uniformed Public Service Fitness

Specialist units
  • Citizenship, the Individual and Society
  • Public Service Workplace Welfare
  • Adventurous Activities and Teamwork for the Public Services
  • The Value of Sport and Recreation in the Public Services
  • Land Navigation by Map and Compass
  • Law and its Impact on the Individual
  • Crime and its Effects on Society
  • Community and Cultural Awareness
  • Driving and its Relationship to the Public Services
  • Expedition Skills
  • Fundamentals of Nautical Studies

You will also study a minimum of two Essential Skills which may include Personal Skills, Communication, Numeracy and ICT. Additional study options - GCSE Maths and/or English.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through assignments marked by lecturers and verified by external moderators.
