Training Methods A variety of teaching and learning methods will be used on the programme, including lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical workshop sessions and screenings but, by far, the most learning will take place as you work through the assignments. Some assignments, such as essays and seminar presentations, will relate to single units, in particular Contextual Studies and media industries. However, you will also undertake Integrated Production Assignments that will test your practical and academic skills. Media productions will provide a focus for bringing together theory and practice and will form a major part of the programme of study. This will enable you to develop a working understanding of the context and current industrial and professional practices operating in the media.

Facilities The college media facilities are some of the best in the country. They can be accessed up until 9pm Monday to Thursday. Technical staff will be available at these times to give help and advice. You will also be able to borrow portable media equipment overnight and at weekends.

Other Information You will be given the opportunity to develop study skills such as research skills, note taking, report writing, essay writing and, for each production module, a production portfolio: this will be an ongoing process. There will be various trips and visits throughout the programme including an international location, currently New York, and a location film shoot for the Final Major Project at the end of the second year.
