Entry Requirements
Normally at least one of the following giving a minimum of 80 UCAS points where appropriate:
The above should be supported by GCSEs at grades A-C. Related work experience will also be considered. An interview will be necessary prior to admission on to the course.
Please note that the course will only run if a minimum number of students enrol.

The programme is delivered by lecturers who have many years’ teaching and industry experience.
Assessment is by a range of methods including assignments, projects, case studies and practical exercises.
The course is run over two academic years. Attendance will be one full day a week (taught sessions from 8.45am-6.00pm).
The programme takes place at the Town Centre campus.
Award Received
Upon successful completion of the course you will receive a Higher National Certificate in Construction and the Built Environment (Civil Engineering).
Progression
You will achieve a Higher National Certificate Civil Engineering and you may follow various career pathways including the route towards Incorporated Engineer (IEng) in the Institution of Civil or Structural Engineers by further studies on an accredited Engineering Degree course.
Course Fees
The fees for the first year of the course in 2016 are £2,600 (4 units) and £650 (additional unit fee) i.e. £3,250 plus BTEC registration fee £173.
Fees may increase should there be a significant change to the underlying cost of providing the course, such as in periods of high inflation, or fundamental changes to course structure due to regulatory or legal obligations. In all cases we will seek to set the maximum of any annual fee rise to the greater of the Retail Price Index or 5%. The maximum cost for the two year programme will be £6,662.50 plus BTEC registration fee £173 (Year two cost = £3,250 + 5% = £3,412.50)
Fees are due at enrolment each year and can be paid either through a Student Loan or by your personal funds (an instalment plan is available if you are paying yourself). Once you have enrolled you are liable for the full year's fee, regardless of whether the full year is completed or not.
There will also be costs for photocopying and printing.
Quality Assurance (QA)
QA systems are embedded throughout the College and the College is regulated by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE). The College is also routinely inspected by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA).
