Course programme
Course description: This programme is for students (from June 2015) who have an HNC in Construction Engineering from City College Norwich.
This programme will only take place if there is sufficient demand.
Students are required to attend college for 1 day a week over a one year period. lease note the day the course takes place each year may change.
The programme uses a combination of traditional classroom teaching, open learning and research-based experiential learning and delivered via laboratory experiments and demonstrations, use of modern surveying equipment, industry standard IT applications and group activities.
Students bring with them a wealth of experience and knowledge which is fully utilised by the programme team. Many assignments are based around students' own work environment, implemented through regular liaison with employers to allow you to access and use non-confidential data and documents from the workplace.

Entry requirements: Applicants should have:
BTEC HNC Construction Engineering (at City College Norwich) - from June 2015
Applications from students whose first language is not English are welcome. We require evidence of proficiency in English (including writing, speaking, listening and reading), the required minimum is:
IELTS (SELT): 6.0 overall (minimum 5.5 in all components)
Or GCSE English A*-C

Learning outcome: This is designed for aspiring higher technicians who are already working within the construction industry and want to continue studying on a day release basis. The course may also be suitable for those seeking a career in the construction industry.
Objective: This programme develops your knowledge, understanding, skills and awareness necessary to provide you with the potential to progress to technical, supervisory and managerial positions in the built environment sector.
Assessment: Assessment is by a mix of programme assignments and project work.
Academic progression: This programme is widely recognised by employers and professional bodies and can provide pathways to both further and higher education and opportunities for membership of relevant professional bodies.
