BTEC Introductory Diploma in Business, Retail and Administration(2010/2011)
Study Method:
Study methods include formal class meetings, workshops, assignments and "hands-on" practical work in computer rooms. Attendance at college is required five days weekly for one year.
Duration :One-year course.
Who the Course is For:
This is a one-year course for those interested in developing an understanding of how businesses work, how they are organised and how they control their money.
Assessment:
The course is continually assessed through assignments, projects and case studies. One assessment will be done externally and the others internally.
Course Leads To:
The BTEC Introductory Diploma in Business, Retail and Administration is equivalent to 4 GCSEs at grades D-G. This qualification is accepted by all employers within the business sector for entry into general administration and customer service.
Students achieving high grades may progress to the BTEC First Diploma
Entry Requirements:
There are no formal academic entry requirements. An acceptable school or college report is required.
Students should be at least 16 years. The college will make the final decision on admission.
Content:
This course is designed to develop learners' understanding of the business world at work. Along with this, learners' carry out a range of activities to develop independent study skills.
There are four compulsory units, four optional units and a series of key skills.
