BTEC Introductory Diploma Business, Retail And Administration (Edxcel)
This course will give you general understanding of Business. It will equip you for further education and give you the foundation to move up to the next level. You will look at basic features of business and how they operate giving you the knowledge and skills to take up a career in the business industry. Students will study 8 units of Business at Level 1. In addition to this they will study Communications, Numeracy and ICT key skills. A key part of the course is a 2 week work experience placement. The level of key skills will be determined by assessment on entry. This course is especially suitable for ESOL students who already have knowledge of written and spoken English.

What will I be doing?
You will be studying 8 units which are:

• Starting work in Business, Retail and Administration
• Working in Business, Retail and Administration
• Introducing Customer Service
• Personal Effectiveness
• Financial Management
• Ensuring Personal Health + Safety at Work
• Communication effectively at work
• Work Experience

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by a portfolio of work that you gather throughout the year, there are no exams.

Where can I go after completing the course?
After the successful completion of the course you will be able to progress to a Level 2 BTEC First course if you get a Merit or above. If you get a pass you can progress on to a NVQ level 2 in Business, Retail and Administration.
