Health & Social Care - BTEC Introductory Diploma
What will I study?
The introductory Diploma is for people who wish to develop underpinning knowledge and skills in Health & Social Care. This will assist with progression onto further study or provide a stepping stone to employment. Successful completion of the course is achieved through a variety of assessment methods including projects, essays and presentations. Of the 8 units, 2 are externally assessed. Achievement of this qualification is the equivalent of two GCSEs grade D-G.

Course Structure
Whilst studying towards this qualification the following modules will be covered; *Starting work in Health and Social Care #, *Working in Health and Social Care #, *Developing skills in Health & Social Care, *Personal effectiveness, *Social responsibility at work, *Images of people, *Health and the Environment, *Exploring Local Services. #Denotes externally assessed units Learners will also study a range of key skills as part of the course. Key skills enable you to demonstrate employability in the workplace and they are a compulsory part of the course. Work placement is a requirement of the course and learners will undertake one day per week work placement.
