Course Content:
To gain the full Diploma, you must complete 8 units. 2 of these units will be externally assessed, the remaining 6 will be assessed through portfolio evidence. Core units are as follows. Starting Work in the IT Industry; Working in the IT Industry; Developing Skills in IT. Personal Skills units are as follows. Personal Effectiveness; Financial Management. Vocational units are Using the Internet; IT Applications; Digital Devices. You will study Key or Basic Skills in Communication and Maths. Students will also attend enrichment activities and tutorials.

You will develop a range of employability skills and techniques, understanding, personal qualities and attitudes essential for success in working life. You will also develop your abilities in IT, through effective use and combination of the knowledge and skills gained in different parts of the qualification. This course provides access into the IT industry where some previous experience is necessary to gain employment. It also provides a suitable qualification to progress on to a range of further study at level 2.

Progression:
This qualification supports progression into further education, training or employment. Successful students have gone on to other level 1 qualifications in alternative sectors or level 2 qualifications in a relevant or alternative subject area.
