Programme Description:
If you have a passion for sport and a naturally inquisitive mind with the desire to achieve peak performance, this is the course for you.
Sport and exercise scientists continue to be a growing presence in the world of sport, and as we look to the future, all the signs suggest that their influence in sport will increase. From the elite performers' reliance on a large support team to analyse and monitor sports performance, to the casual gym user's use of ergogenic aids, sport and exercise sciences is seen as an essential element in the continued quest to strive for peak performance. The 18 unit Level 3 course includes the essential core elements: anatomy, physiology, psychology, nutrition, sports biomechanics and analysis while combining the practical application through fitness testing, coaching and work experience in sport. This course is ideal for those learners who wish to learn more about analysing sports performance and what it takes to aspire towards peak performance. Learners develop learning identifying the limits of human body while understanding what it takes to achieve peak performance. This is achieved via our 'Sector Leading' (Colegau Cymru, 2011) SportsCode Apple Mac Suite and Performance HWB where students gain first-hand experience with our ‘Gold Standard’ equipment, boasting Peak Power Wattbikes, Body Mass Analyser, Smartspeed sensors and breath-by-breath VO2max analysis.
