BTEC Level 2 Diploma Sport

Who is this course for?

Post -16 students who want to go on to further study and who have an academic interest in Sport and/or those wanting a career in the sports industry. This course will be suitable for you if you have an interest in " Sports performance " Sports leadership " Fitness ". BTEC Level 2 Award in Sport (NQF) is designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required for successful employment in sport and recreation industries. It also prepares you for the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport. It would be advantageous to have previous experience playing competitive sport.

What qualifications or experience do I need ?

Applicants are required to have 4 grade A-Ds at GCSE level including English, maths and preferably PE. Alternatively a BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure with a level 1 Functional skills English and maths.

What will I study ?

Fitness for Sport and Exercise (externally assessed), Practical Sports Performance (internally assessed), Training for Personal Fitness (internally assessed) and Leading Sports Activities (internally assessed).

How will I be assessed ?

This course is externally and internally assessed, which is internally and externally verified before certification is awarded. Additional short courses are offered alongside this course and can also be part of the course where applicable.
