Course programme

Smart Energy & Environmental Training is the only company in the UK offering a BTEC Level Diploma in the study of Renewable Energy Assessment. The structure of the course allows individuals with no experience of the energy sector to embark on a new and exciting prospective career in Energy Consultancy. It is also a natural progression for more experienced energy professionals looking to add to their existing business and improve their knowledge of this growing area of the market.

The government has set clear targets for the reduction of carbon emissions by one third by 2020 and by four fifths by 2050 calculating from the 1990 baseline levels.

Consequently, investment into renewable technologies is both a government and business priority in ensuring emission reductions. In addition, there is a target that from 2016 all newly build domestic properties will be carbon neutral by 2016 and from 2019 all newly built commercial properties will be carbon neutral.

Those who specify, manufacture, build and advise on carbon emissions need to both be aware of and to comply with the requirement to meet these targets. The unit is designed to provide the candidates with the capacity to carry out feasibility studies on domestic and commercial buildings by looking at integrating renewable energy technologies into constructions of various types. This will necessitate consideration of both the technical and financial aspects associated with adopting and installing renewable energy technologies.

By carrying out feasibility studies with the software and the skills learnt on the accredited course you will be able to assess which renewable technologies will bring the best financial and environmental savings for your clients.

These feasibility surveys can lead to huge energy savings for your clients. Set yourself apart from other energy professionals, further your skills and offer a service that your competitors cannot.

Candidates also have the benefit of Hands On Experience on our training trailer, where you get to see the technologies actually working and being metered.
