Prepare for a range of careers in the music industry This course develops the technical and practical skills for a range of careers in the sound and music industry. It will prepare you for professional work in the following areas: Sound Engineering; Studio and Music Production; Games Sound and Music; Music and Sound for Film.
Experience a professional recording studio and real working practice. Set within a professional recording studio and sound production environment, you will work on projects and industry briefs that reflect working practice in the commercial world. Assignments are modelled on activities and processes found in industry. Use the latest equipment, including 48 Channel SSL Duality Console, SSL AWS498 and SSL Matrix.Other modules: Music and Sound for the Moving Image; Sequencing Systems and Techniques; Sound Creation and Manipulation; The Functional Music Keyboard; The Sound and Music Industry; Sound for Computer Games; Acoustics for Musicians; Audio Engineering Principles; Delivering a Music Product; Listening Skills for Music Technologists; Music Production Techniques; Music Recording.
4 GCSE's grade C or above plus some music production experience
Course assessment is continuous throughout the course.
You will receive a Level 3 Diploma in Music Technology. Following this course, you can apply to City and Islington College/IMW to join the HND in Music Production or further courses at UK universities or find employment in the sector.
