Extended Diploma Performing Arts (Musical Theatre) Y2

Year 1

The emphasis of this course is about the development of your skills, techniques, and performance qualities where you will continue to build upon skills and knowledge gained on a level 3 90 Credit Diploma or equivalent. You will study a broad variety of units in singing, musical theatre performance, jazz dance, urban dance, audition techniques, storytelling and acting skills. Additionally, in this year students work towards a full-scale production at our professional city centre theatre. Performances include familiar musicals as well as cabaret evenings and showcases of work.

Alongside the coursework, there are abundant opportunities to perform including professional cabaret evenings, charity concerts, ceremonies, flash mob events and Christmas carol concerts. Professional performers visit us frequently to take West End musical theatre workshops and master classes in dance, acting and vocal training.
