This course prepares you directly for employment working with children as it confers a licence to practice. This is needed for working in a variety of settings e.g. nursery practitioner, a class assistant, children’s holiday rep or child minder or nanny. It is ideally suited for students aiming to go on to Higher Education to gain a degree for careers such as primary teaching or social work.

Course programme

This course covers all areas of children’s development and learning, including current curriculums and how theoretical learning underpins working with children. You will gain practical experience during your 750 placement hours. These will be made up in a variety of settings to include childminders, nurseries, schools and special needs placements. The course consists of a variety of units including: Children’s Development, Play and Learning Working with children with additional needs, Cooking activities with Children Promoting Children’s Development outdoors
