This higher level course could open up a wide range of rewarding careers in the armed forces, police service, fire service and the ambulance service. You will develop a high understanding about major incidents, human behaviour, diversity, criminology and your own personal efficiency in emergency situations. Working effectively in a team is crucial - you will take part in a variety of outdoor activities such as navigation and orienteering. You’ll also work on your physical fitness by taking part in physical fitness activities to bring you up to the level required by public service organisations. The HNC and HND give you a competitive advantage in your career progression, improving your promotion or employment opportunities. If you complete the HNC, you can progress to the HND. If you successfully achieve the HND, you can ‘top up’ your qualification to a full Honours degree at university. This is a two year part-time course.

About this course

To access this course you are required to have: At least two A Levels, preferably in Uniformed Public Services and the BTEC National Diploma in Sport or a related discipline Mature students will be considered in light of relevant work and life experience

It will also allow you to build a portfolio of evidence and complete other workpacks that are required for you to gain the qualifications in this programme.
