Who the Course is For:
This is a one year course that provides students with the knowledge and skills to enter the computer industry, especially computer programming, networking or systems support occupations.
It also leads on to National Diploma or higher level education opportunities for those seeking to continue their studies
Assessment:
Students are assessed by a well structured internal and external programme or assignments, coursework, projects, and examinations where appropriate
Course Leads To:
The BTEC National Award is accepted by all employers and a number of professional bodies. Further educational establishments accept the qualification as an entry to the National Diploma or Degree courses
Entry Requirements:
The normal entry requirements are:
- BTEC First Certificate/Diploma
- Passes in Three GCSE subjects with Grade C or above (preferably including English or Maths)
- Full CPVE Certification
- Other equivalent qualification and/or experience

- IT Systems Analysis and Design

In addition to the above, key skills will be assessed

explore, within sectors such as the growing computer games industry, product development, technical support, technical sales, telecommunications and hardware engineering. Jobs that are commonly taken after completion of the qualification are: systems analyst, computer service technician and computer operator
