This course will help you to decide where your interest lies within art and design. It provides a fast-track to university art and design courses and is an alternative to traditional A Levels. The first year covers a broad range of areas. Interesting and fun projects will
introduce you to creative subjects including: ceramics, fashion and
textiles, graphic design, printmaking, photography, 3D design and
conceptual work. On successful completion of the first year you will
achieve a National Certificate (equivalent to 4 AS Levels). You may
also have the opportunity to study towards an AS Level in art and
design, film studies or photography.

Alongside your main course you can study Functional Skills qualifications and more specialist awards that are relevant to the subject you are studying.

How will I be assessed?
This qualification is assessed on a continuous basis through practical and written assignments.

Progression
On successful completion of this one-year course you will have the opportunity to progress to the ABC National Diploma in Foundation Studies in Art and Design (Media). This course is the preferred route to get you into the best university of your choice.

Achieving this course will give you the equivalent of 3 A Levels and provide entry to study degree level courses.
