BTEC National Certificate in Children's Care, Learning & Development

Course summary:
The course is two years full time and is equivalent to almost three A levels.
This is an early years course which is career focused and nationally recognised covering a total of 720 Guided Learning Hours.
This covers both the practical skills and underpinning knowledge you will need as an early years practitioner. It also provides you with a licence to practice to work unsupervised with children.

The BTEC National Certificate in Children's Care, Learning & Development is designed to enable learners to work with children in a Professional capacity

Students will take further

optional units to complete the award.
Vocational practice for learners is an essential vehicle for the achievement of the course aims.

Assessment procedure:
Assessment of the BTEC National Certificate in Children's Care, Learning & Development is based on evidence derived from portfolio work, successful completing of unit assignments and evidence of key skill

Entry requirements:
Students who enter with one of the following are likely to benefit more readily from the programme:
* A GCSE equivalent to four passes at grade C, or above, including English. Learners who are intending to progress to teaching are likely to benefit from having English, Maths and Science as GCSE passes.
* Related work experience.
Mature students may be accepted onto the programme following interview.
