Students who enter with one of the following are likely to benefit more readily from the programme: * A GCSE equivalent to four passes at grade C, or above, including English. Learners who are intending to progress to teaching are likely to benefit from having English, Maths and Science as GCSE passes. * Related work experience. Mature students may be accepted onto the programme following interview.

Students will take further
optional units to complete the award.

Assessment of the BTEC National Certificate in Children's Care, Learning & Development is based on evidence derived from portfolio work, successful completing of unit assignments and evidence of key skill
