Course Content

Course Features
The overall aim of the course is to provide a broad based introduction to the study of travel and tourism.
Students will develop the skills, knowledge and understanding relevant to employment in this sector.
All students will undertake a period of work placement , which is linked to several of the units studied.
Course has a strong link with local employers. This ensures that students gain a realistic view of the demands and the trends of the industry.
Students with appropriate qualifications can choose to study AS/A Level subjects in conjunction with this course.
Additional qualifications such as ABTAC and Travel Destinations can be studied.
Career Prospects and Progression
Successful completion of the BTEC National Certificate will qualify students for entry to HNDs and Degree courses in related subjects. Also careers directly related to travel and tourism e.g. Tour Operators, Travel Agents, Holiday Reps, Tourist Information Centres, hotel and hospitality work and public relations.
