About this course
Students need either a BTEC First Diploma or GNVQ Intermediate in a science related subject or 4 GCSEs A* - C , which must include a Science subject, English and Maths.
Selection will be by interview and fulfilment of entry requirements plus a satisfactory reference indicating good attendance and attitude.

The course covers all aspects of beauty therapy with a strong science and management emphasis. It includes facial and body work and electrolysis. Students are taught in commercially working clinics in college. There will be work experience, plus educational visits and competition work

As part of the practical beauty therapy elements of the course will take part in the commercial working clinics in the College
WORK EXPERIENCE
All students will be required to undertake a work experience placement. The aim is to provide students with the opportunity to apply their skills and knowledge in a real working environment.
Students will be continually assessed through a series of written, oral and practical work assignments.
Each module will be assessed by assignments.
Successful completion of the BTEC National Diploma in Beauty Therapy Sciences can lead to entry into university - Higher Education, Foundation degrees or into part-time alternative therapy courses such as reflexology.
