The BTEC National Diploma in Graphic Design course is taught by
industry experienced staff and forms an ideal foundation for you to develop the full range of graphic design skills.

This course is a recognised fasttrack to degree level courses and
covers the areas of:

· Information design
· Typography
· Design history
· Video and motion graphics
· Digital illustration
· Photography
· Web page design
· Flash animation

A strong emphasis is placed on visualising creative ideas through a
variety of media for corporate identities, packaging, advertising,
animated graphics, web design, print and publishing. Projects are linked to industry, providing a chance to work with real clients. Visits to exhibitions and museums also form part of this course. You will also be given the chance to gain qualifications in Functional Skills.

How will I be assessed?
This qualification is assessed on a continuous basis through practical and written assignments in studios and workshops, both by our staff and external moderators. If you show exceptional talent or prior learning experience but do not have the relevant qualifications you may be given special consideration.

Progression
On successful completion you may:

Progress to a vast range of art and design degree courses including the Foundation Degree in Graphic Design at Weston College, which is run in partnership with Bath Spa University.
Other related degree courses include: advertising, animation, illustration, multimedia and photography.

Or

Choose from a wide range of career paths in the art and design field, such as graphic design, animation, advertising, media graphics and web design.

Achieving this course will give you the equivalent of 3 A Levels and provide entry to study degree level courses.
